Senior / Lead Solutions Architect – Enterprise Networking (Pre-Sales)

A rapidly growing technology solutions provider focused on enterprise infrastructure, AI-ready data center transformation, cybersecurity, and cloud modernization is expanding its enterprise architecture team with the addition of a Senior / Lead Pre-Sales Solutions Architect focused on Enterprise Networking.
This is a senior-level customer-facing architecture role supporting complex enterprise environments and strategic pursuits across the NY / NJ market. The position offers strong visibility internally and externally, along with a long-term path toward technical leadership or player-coach management responsibilities as the region continues to scale.
The Role
This individual will serve as a senior technical advisor to enterprise customers, partnering directly with Account Executives, engineering leadership, OEM partners, and executive stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.
The focus is centered around modern network architecture and transformation initiatives spanning data center, campus, WAN, and hybrid cloud environments.
This is a highly consultative pre-sales role - ideal for someone who enjoys owning technical strategy, leading whiteboarding sessions, influencing enterprise architecture decisions, and helping close large, complex opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and solution architecture for enterprise pursuits
- Design modern networking solutions across data center, campus, WAN, and cloud environments
- Act as the primary technical resource aligned to strategic enterprise accounts
- Run customer discovery sessions and translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions
- Support executive presentations, architecture workshops, and technical deep dives
- Partner closely with OEMs and internal engineering resources throughout pursuits
- Develop solution documentation, architecture diagrams, scopes, and technical proposals
- Drive and support POCs, technical validations, and solution demonstrations
- Provide guidance around future-state architecture, modernization initiatives, and transformation roadmaps
- Ensure smooth transition from pre-sales into delivery and implementation teams
Technical Environment
This role is heavily focused on modern enterprise networking and next-generation architecture initiatives, including:
- Spine/Leaf data center fabrics
- VXLAN / EVPN architectures
- SD-WAN and SASE
- Campus modernization and segmentation
- Network automation and programmability
- Hybrid cloud connectivity
- Enterprise wireless and software-defined networking
- Multi-vendor enterprise environments
Desired Background
- 7+ years of enterprise networking experience
- 5+ years in a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect, Consulting Engineer, or similar customer-facing architecture role
- Experience working within a VAR, Systems Integrator, OEM, MSP, or consulting environment
- Strong expertise across modern enterprise networking technologies and architectures
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, executives, and business stakeholders
- Experience supporting large enterprise customers and complex technical sales cycles
- Comfortable leading presentations, workshops, and customer-facing strategy discussions
Strong Pluses
- CCIE, CCDE, JNCIE, PCNSE, or similar advanced certifications
- Experience with automation frameworks/tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Python
- Exposure to AI / HPC networking environments
- Prior mentorship, leadership, or player-coach experience
