Remote Audit Manager | Independent CPA Firm | Chicago-Based | Up to $175,000 + Bonus

Location: 100% Remote (US Based)

Compensation: Up to $175,000 base + performance bonus

Requirements: 5+ years public accounting audit experience | Big 4 or Top 25 background preferred | Active CPA required

We are hiring an Audit Manager to join our assurance practice in a fully remote capacity.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage financial statement audit engagements from planning through issuance across a general commercial client base
  • Serve as the day-to-day client relationship owner on active engagements
  • Review workpapers, lead fieldwork, and ensure engagements are delivered on time and on budget
  • Mentor and develop staff and senior associates
  • Collaborate directly with partners on client strategy and business development
  • Apply technical accounting knowledge to complex issues — ASC research, financial reporting matters, and client-specific challenges


What We Are Looking For

  • Active CPA required
  • 5+ years of public accounting audit experience with at least 1–2 years managing engagements or supervising teams
  • Big 4 or Top 25 firm background strongly preferred — you have seen what a rigorous audit looks like and you have run one
  • Strong technical foundation in US GAAP and financial statement auditing across commercial industries
  • Strong client-facing communication skills — someone clients trust and want on their engagement
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in a remote-first environment with distributed teams
