Senior Tax Advisor
100% Tax Planning | Fully Remote | High-Growth Opportunity
Help clients make smarter financial decisions through proactive tax strategy—not tax returns.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join a nationally recognized Registered Investment Advisory firm and play a key role in delivering sophisticated, proactive tax planning to our clients.
This is a unique opportunity for a tax professional who wants to move beyond traditional compliance work and spend their time doing what matters most: working directly with clients and advisors to identify opportunities, solve complex tax challenges, and help clients make better financial decisions.
This is a 100% tax-planning role. There is no tax return preparation or traditional compliance workload.
You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with high-net-worth clients, business owners, and their advisors throughout the year, anticipating tax implications before decisions are made—not simply reacting at tax time.
Why This Role?
100% Tax Planning. Zero Compliance.
If you’ve built your career in tax but want to spend less time on compliance and more time providing meaningful strategic advice, this role was designed for you.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Meet directly with clients and advisors to provide sophisticated tax planning, strategy, and recommendations
- Develop proactive tax-saving strategies tailored to each client’s goals, financial situation, and circumstances
- Work with clients throughout the year to anticipate tax implications of investment decisions, business changes, retirement planning, and other major financial events
- Build long-term client relationships grounded in trust, expertise, and responsiveness
- Prepare and present tax projections, planning analyses, and strategy summaries
- Help clients and advisors understand complex tax concepts and translate them into actionable strategies
- Assist with calculating certain inherited IRA distribution requirements
- Train and educate our advisors on tax topics and the ways clients can benefit from proactive tax planning
- Help continuously evolve and improve the firm's tax-planning offering
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Tax Advisor, you’ll be both a trusted resource for clients and an internal tax expert for the broader organization.
Client Advisory & Tax Planning
- Meet directly with clients and advisors to understand objectives and provide tax-planning recommendations
- Develop and implement customized tax strategies
- Prepare tax projections, planning analyses, and strategy summaries
- Collaborate throughout the year to identify and address tax opportunities before they become issues
- Communicate complex tax concepts clearly and practically
- Resolve discrepancies and answer client financial questions with professionalism and responsiveness
Internal Tax Leadership
- Serve as a tax resource and thought partner to the firm's advisors
- Train and educate advisors on relevant tax topics and planning opportunities
- Review and monitor emerging opportunities to improve and expand the firm's tax-planning services
- Collaborate with firm leadership to establish departmental goals and implement tax-planning best practices
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth
- Help identify opportunities to improve internal workflows, technology, and the overall client experience
Technology, Processes & Operations
- Manage and maintain the firm's tax-planning software
- Review and enhance internal processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service quality
- Maintain client data, cases, and notes within internal systems, including Salesforce
- Ensure client documentation is organized and maintained according to firm standards
- Maintain Client Docs folders according to established templates
- Support firm-wide workflow improvements and technology integration
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and follow all data-security protocols
