Operating for the pas 40 years we are a midsized firm in North Carolina that is seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager specializing in HUD and Affordable Housing audits to join our fully remote team. This role offers up to $205,000 annual salary, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage HUD and affordable housing audit engagements from planning through issuance
- Oversee multiple audit teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and timeliness
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, building strong, consultative relationships
- Review financial statements and audit reports for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Stay current on HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing regulations
- Train and mentor audit staff and seniors on HUD-specific issues and audit techniques
Requirements
- Active CPA license (Required)
- Minimum 8+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on HUD and affordable housing audits
- Strong knowledge of HUD Handbook, Uniform Guidance, and LIHTC regulations
- Experience with nonprofit and/or governmental audits is a plus
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
