Position Summary
The Commercial Construction Project Manager will lead and manage Commercial Interiors, Tenant Improvement (TI), and Interior Fit-Out projects across a variety of commercial sectors including office, healthcare, retail, industrial, and institutional environments.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout—ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple commercial interior construction projects simultaneously (typical range: $200K – $5M+)
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and financial reporting
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and buyout
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Lead OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Ensure quality control and jobsite safety compliance
- Mentor and support Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers
- Drive client satisfaction and repeat business within the Richmond market
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
- Strong experience in Commercial Interiors / Tenant Improvement / Interior Fit-Out projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects
- Strong financial acumen and cost control experience
- Experience with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
- Knowledge of local Richmond subcontractor and vendor market preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
