Audit Partner – Governmental Audit

Fully Remote/Hybrid | Partner-Level Compensation + Bonus Structure | 4 Weeks PTO | Full Benefits

Locations: Must be in Houston, Austin, or Dallas

Operating across all three major cities in Texas, we are a boutique CPA firm exclusively focused on providing audit and advisory services to governmental entities, including municipalities, school districts, public authorities, and other public sector organizations. Our specialized focus has allowed us to build long-standing client relationships, a strong reputation in the governmental audit space, and a collaborative culture centered around quality, flexibility, and sustainable growth.


As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Audit Partner to join our leadership team.

This opportunity is ideal for a driven governmental audit leader who enjoys client-facing work, mentoring teams, developing business, and helping shape the future of a growing boutique firm. The ideal candidate will play a key role in both client service and firm leadership while working alongside an experienced team dedicated exclusively to the governmental audit niche.


Responsibilities

  • Lead governmental audit engagements from planning through final issuance
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for governmental audit clients
  • Review financial statements, audit documentation, and technical accounting matters
  • Oversee Single Audits and compliance engagements under Uniform Guidance
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to managers, seniors, and staff
  • Participate in firm strategy, practice development, and operational initiatives
  • Assist with business development efforts and expanding client relationships
  • Collaborate closely with firm leadership on long-term growth initiatives and technical matters


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of public accounting audit experience
  • Significant governmental audit experience required
  • Strong experience with Single Audits and Uniform Guidance
  • Active CPA license required
  • Prior experience managing client relationships and engagement teams
  • Experience reviewing and signing audit reports preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote/hybrid environment
