Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director

Compensation: $160k-$225k+ base | Performance bonuses | Partner track in under 2 years

Requirements: CPA required | 8-10+ years tax experience | Proven leader

Location: Remote in Northern California (San Jose office)


Well-established San Jose CPA firm seeking a tax leader to join our succession plan.


We're a growing firm with 50+ employees serving diverse clients from startups to privately held businesses generating up to $500M in annual revenue. We work across construction, manufacturing, non-profit, technology, and emerging startups—keeping your work intellectually stimulating and varied.


This is a high-impact role with a clear path to Partner in less than 2 years. We're thinking long-term and seeking someone who could step into the Managing Partner role as part of our succession planning.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead complex tax engagements across diverse industries and client types
  • Manage and grow your own book of business from day one
  • Provide sophisticated tax planning and advisory services to clients generating up to $500M in revenue
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals across the firm
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic growth initiatives
  • Build the firm's future as part of succession planning


What You'll Bring:

  • 8-10+ years of public accounting experience with increasing responsibility
  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong technical skills in entity and individual taxation
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and book of business
  • Background in construction, manufacturing, or technology/startups is a plus
  • Desire to step into a long-term leadership role with equity opportunity

Total Compensation:

  • Base: $160,000 - $225,000+ (experience-based)
