Director of Trusts & Estates Tax – High-Net-Worth Families & Fiduciary Planning
Fully Remote | $200K–$325K+ | Premier U.S. CPA Firm
A nationally recognized CPA firm with a sophisticated fiduciary tax practice is expanding its Estate, Gift & Trust group and seeking a Director-level professional (or a seasoned Senior Tax Manager) ready to step into a client-facing leadership role.
This is a remote position with full Partner visibility and the chance to shape the future of a high-growth EGT practice that advises some of the most successful families in the country.
The Opportunity
You’ll serve as a strategic advisor across complex estate, gift, and trust structures—coordinating directly with attorneys, wealth advisors, and family offices. This is a consultative role, not just compliance: you’ll guide clients through generational transfers, estate settlements, and fiduciary reporting while leading a capable internal team.
Key Focus Areas

Fiduciary Tax (1041 / 706 / 709) – Estates, trusts, and gifting transactions

HNW Individual Tax (1040) – Closely tied to family entities and investment vehicles

Planning & Strategy – Generational wealth, charitable vehicles, succession
What You’ll Do
- Direct and review complex fiduciary, estate, and gift tax engagements
- Develop and implement strategic tax plans for HNW families and their entities
- Partner with attorneys and advisors to optimize estate structures and minimize tax exposure
- Mentor and develop a specialized team of tax professionals
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and the EGT practice
Qualifications

CPA or EA required; advanced tax or estate-planning degree preferred

10+ years of experience in public accounting with a fiduciary and HNW focus
- Proven ability to manage large, sensitive client relationships
- Strong grasp of federal and state estate/gift tax rules
- Confident communicator capable of translating technical topics for non-technical audiences
