Remote Tax Manager / Senior Tax Advisory Manager

Fully Remote | 40–45 Hour Cap Year-Round

$130K–$170K base (DOE) + bonus

A boutique, fully remote CPA firm is hiring a Tax Manager / Senior Tax Advisory Manager to support continued growth ahead of the upcoming April tax season. This role is designed for someone who wants to do real tax work — planning, advisory, and high-level review — without the burnout model that dominates public accounting.

This firm does not operate on a traditional “busy season” mentality. Workloads are intentionally managed, hours are capped, and expectations are realistic year-round.

Hours & Workload (Clear and Enforced)

• Peak season hours: 40–45 hours/week
• Off-season hours: 30–40 hours/week
• No surprise spikes, no fire drills, no 70-hour weeks
• Firm leadership actively manages workflow to protect balance
• Efficiency and Production forward culture

The Work

• Primary focus on tax planning and advisory for:
• Closely held small businesses
• Real estate investors and owner-operators
• Review of complex individual and entity returns (S-corps, partnerships, multi-state)
• Limited hands-on prep as needed, but review and advisory drive the role
• Direct client interaction and proactive planning conversations
• No billable hour requirements or utilization pressure

What They’re Looking For:

• Tax Manager or SeniorTax Manager-level background in public accounting
• Strong experience with pass-through entities and individual tax
• Real estate exposure is a plus (investors, partnerships, multi-entity structures)
• Comfortable leading reviews and client discussions
• Someone who values quality work and sustainable pace over volume
