Senior Tax Manager / Director – Trusts & Estates (1041 / 706 / 709) + HNW Individuals

A nationally ranked, South Central U.S.-based CPA firm is actively hiring a Senior Tax Manager with deep expertise in Trusts & Estates (1041, 706, 709) and high-net-worth individual taxation. This is a fully remote position with direct Partner access and clear potential to grow into a leadership or partner-track role.
This team plays a highly consultative role across estate, gift, and trust planning, often coordinating with attorneys, wealth advisors, and multigenerational families. You'll handle complex fiduciary and wealth transfer issues, while also supporting the individual tax needs of HNW clients connected to these structures.
Role Breakdown
- ~70% Trusts & Estates / Estate & Gift (Forms 1041, 706, 709)
- ~30% High-net-worth individual tax planning (Form 1040 and strategic consulting)
Your Impact
- Manage complex fiduciary tax engagements, with a focus on estate and trust returns, gifting strategies, and generational wealth transfers.
- Prepare and review 1041s, 706s, 709s, and HNW 1040s for affluent families and their estate vehicles.
- Advise clients on sophisticated estate planning matters and coordinate with attorneys and family offices.
- Lead and mentor staff on fiduciary and HNW tax issues, ensuring compliance and quality execution.
- Conduct technical tax research and present proactive, high-value recommendations.
- Contribute to firm strategy and help grow the EGT practice area alongside firm leadership.
Qualifications
- CPA or EA required; Master’s in Taxation, Estate Planning, or related field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of public accounting experience, with a specialization in trusts & estates, estate and gift taxation, and HNW individuals.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax rules related to estates, gifts, trusts, and individuals.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with high-sensitivity clientele.
- Experience reviewing complex returns and mentoring junior team members.
