Compensation: $150k - $200k+
We are a national technology solutions provider supporting mid-market commercial and enterprise customers across cybersecurity, networking, cloud, and data center initiatives. Our teams work across multi-vendor environments with a strong focus on delivering high-quality security solutions into complex production environments.
We are continuing to expand our security delivery team and are hiring a Senior Security Consulting Engineer with a strong background in network security engineering, specifically across Palo Alto and Fortinet platforms.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on, client-facing engineering role focused on the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise security solutions.
The role leans heavily toward network security engineering (firewalls, segmentation, secure connectivity), while also requiring a solid understanding of broader cybersecurity concepts across cloud, identity, and application security.
You’ll work directly with customers and internal teams to deliver security solutions end-to-end - from initial deployment through optimization and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy enterprise network security solutions across multi-vendor environments
- Lead implementations across Palo Alto (PAN-OS, Panorama) and Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
- Own firewall migrations, upgrades, and greenfield deployments across enterprise environments
- Configure and optimize advanced security capabilities (IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, threat prevention, URL filtering)
- Support secure connectivity initiatives including IPSec / SSL VPNs and SD-WAN
- Contribute to Zero Trust and SASE-based architectures (Prisma Access, FortiSASE, etc.)
- Perform security assessments, health checks, and environment optimization
- Troubleshoot complex issues across network and security layers in production environments
- Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing technical guidance to clients
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in network security engineering or security consulting roles
- Strong experience with Palo Alto and Fortinet platforms
- Deep understanding of firewalls, NAT, VPNs, segmentation, and threat prevention technologies
- Solid networking foundation as it relates to security design and deployment
- Experience working in client-facing delivery environments (VAR, MSP, consulting)
- Ability to own projects end-to-end - from deployment through optimization and support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multi-domain environments
- Relevant Certifications such as PCNSE, NSE, CISSP, CISM or CCIE
Additional Exposure (Nice to Have)
- SASE / Zero Trust architectures
- Cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Endpoint security / XDR platforms
- Familiarity with frameworks like NIST or similar
