 Hybrid Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager – Northern Chicago Area CPA Firm

Location: Northern Suburbs of Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 2–3 days in office)

Position: Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager

Firm Type: Well-Established, Growing Mid-Sized CPA Firm

Compensation: Up to $180K Base + 10% Bonus

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Oversee and mentor staff accountants, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships across diverse industries.
  • Research complex tax issues and provide strategic planning opportunities for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to improve processes and deliver exceptional client service.


What We’re Looking For

  • CPA license required.
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Strong technical skills in individual, business, and multi-state taxation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Axcess, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A proactive, team-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative hybrid environment.
