We are actively seeking an AI, Automations & Database Lead, a joyful, technically sharp, and deeply curious builder who will own all things automation and data at System Six. You’ll step into what we have today - across tools like GPT/Claude, Make, Zapier, Supabase, PowerBI and various SaaS products. This includes cool app-connections via API, and complicated internal PowerBI dashboards pulling data from a variety of sources.

You’ll learn and improve all we have today and also build things entirely anew. It is an incredibly exciting time to be in a growth-minded accounting firm - the opportunities to streamline and improve experiences - for our team and our clients - are nearly limitless. You’ll spend every day working on those opportunities - and helping the entire team build the accounting firm of the future.

This is a fantastic full time, U.S. based position for someone who loves to build, reporting directly to the CEO. The company has grown 3x+ over the last five years and plans to continue its growth for decades to come - in a sustainable, joyful manner. This is not your traditional accounting firm.

Professional Skills 

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AI automations and data inside a B2B business  
• Power BI or equivalent expertise: you have built, maintained and optimized dashboards and the live production systems behind them — data pipelines, Python scripts, SQL cron jobs, gateway refresh chains. You understand database design, row-level security, have strong DAX fluency with nested multi-table logic, and are comfortable with Python and SQL. You've maintained pipelines, not just built dashboards on top of them and obsess over documenting your work 
• Proven workflow automation with AI and low-code tools: you have built material process automations with tools like Claude, Zapier and Make that save demonstrable time. Maybe you haven’t built agents yet, but you’ve proven you can learn and build  
• Advanced Excel: structured tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, named ranges, data validation, pivot tables, and strict file/path discipline in a connected data ecosystem 
• Basic to mid-level accounting literacy: you don't need to be a CPA, but you need to understand a chart of accounts, GL structure and the basics of accounting  
• Strong data governance skills: you understand that a client renamed in one system, a new GL account added in another, or a mismatched ID can deeply corrupt work, dashboards, or payouts 

What does the day to day look like for this role? 

• Own and maintain our Power BI dashboards, critical for daily management. You handle all aspects of the underlying complicated system we have today - data pipelines, Python scripts, 
• SQL cron jobs, gateway refreshes, etc. You handle maintenance and constantly improve  
• Build and maintain automations across the entire company. You’ll work with everyone from leadership to day-to-day team to build solutions that remove friction and improve everyone’s job. 
• This may be a new Hubspot to Karbon integration for sales, an agent for our HR team to help with policy questions, or a better invoicing bot for a client, each handled with Claude and other apps 
• Own our quarterly profit share process — the most complex data process we have. 
• This means coordinating snapshots across time tracking, financials, and payroll; cleaning messy data across multiple sources; and validating DAX calculations against raw exports before results impact critical payouts to team  
• Train and support others. You’re not just building in a corner. You’re playing a critical role in AI adoption across System Six. This means training teams on solutions you build, and teaching 
• others who want to modify solutions themselves
