Audit Manager – Director (Fully Remote)

A nationally ranked public accounting firm (Top 100) is expanding its Assurance practice and seeking experienced professionals at the Manager, Senior Manager, and Director levels. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates anywhere in the U.S., offering the chance to join a collaborative team serving a broad mix of industries and clients.

About the Role

You’ll play a key leadership role managing and executing financial statement audits for middle-market and large private companies. You’ll also gain exposure to industries such as technology, life sciences, manufacturing, distribution real estate, and other dynamic sectors. This is a highly visible role working directly with CFOs, Controllers, and executive leadership while developing and mentoring the next generation of audit professionals.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and oversee audit engagements across multiple industries, with a strong emphasis on middle-market and large private companies.
• Develop audit strategy, budgets, and staffing plans while ensuring high-quality execution and client satisfaction.
• Review and evaluate complex accounting areas (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, impairment testing, credit losses).
• Provide recommendations to improve internal controls and operational processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures in compliance with GAAP, PCAOB, and regulatory standards.
• Mentor, train, and evaluate staff, supporting both technical and professional development.
• Collaborate with client executives and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of audit engagements.

What We’re Looking For

• Current or recent public accounting experience at a Big 4, Top 100, or other nationally recognized CPA firm.
• CPA license required.
• Proven progression in audit roles (Manager level and above).
• Experience auditing for-profit companies, ideally with exposure to middle-market and large private clients.
• Background in industries such as technology, life sciences, manufacturing, distribution real estate is highly valued, though we welcome a broad range of industry expertise.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-service skills.
