REMOTE Real Estate Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager – National CPA Firm ($155K–$220K+)
A fast-growing, nationally recognized CPA firm with a 30+ year track record is expanding its Real Estate Tax practice and adding multiple Real Estate Tax Managers and Senior Tax Managers to support continued growth across its real estate client base.
They’ve built a culture around quality, accountability, and a sustainable pace. Managers are trusted to own deadlines, guide teams, and manage their clients without being second-guessed or buried in internal red tape. The firm invests in systems, people, and structure so strong performers in real estate tax can stay strong long-term — not burn out after one or two busy seasons.
These roles are focused primarily on real estate partnerships and real estate-heavy C-Corps, with exposure to complex ownership structures, sophisticated allocations, and high-level planning. Pass-through and HNW experience is a plus, but the core of the practice is real estate.
About the Firm
- Established CPA firm with 30+ years of operating history
- National platform with regional team structure — you primarily support clients within your time zone and region
- Dedicated Real Estate Tax practice serving developers, investment groups, funds, and RE operating companies
- Clean, modern tax tech stack and infrastructure
- Fully remote culture with optional regional hubs
- Partner group that invests in leadership development and long-term growth
The client mix includes real estate investment groups, developers, private funds, family offices, and operating real estate companies across multifamily, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, and hospitality.
The Role
This role sits at the core of the firm’s Real Estate Tax practice. You’ll be fully embedded in real estate engagements — not doing generic tax work with the occasional RE client on the side.Responsibilities include:
- Managing tax engagements for real estate partnerships, real estate funds, and real estate-focused C-Corps
- Reviewing and overseeing complex partnership tax returns and multi-entity structures
- Handling and advising on:
- Section 1031 exchanges
- Waterfall and complex allocation structures
- Capital account maintenance & partner basis issues
- Multi-tier partnership structures
- Debt allocations and partner distributions
- Real estate depreciation, cost segregation, and disposition events
- Leading tax planning and structuring conversations for acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and restructures
- Reviewing work across real estate partnerships, RE C-Corps, and related pass-through structures
- Mentoring staff and senior accountants within the real estate practice
- Working directly with partners on complex engagements, client strategy, and workflow planning
There is flexibility in how the role is shaped depending on your strengths — whether you lean more technical, client-facing, planning-heavy, or a mix.
