Client Accounting Manager | Fully Remote in USA | Up to $140K+

Location: Fully Remote (US residents only)

Compensation: $110,000 – $140,000 base + performance bonus

Requirements: Bachelor's in Accounting | 5–7 years CAS/outsourced public accounting experience | CPA preferred

About the Firm:

Join a Top 50 accounting firm that's been independently owned and operated for over 50 years—no private equity, no merger uncertainty, no cultural whiplash. With 500+ employees and 20% organic growth over the past two years, this award-winning firm is expanding because clients love working with them, not because of a roll-up strategy. If you've watched a PE acquisition quietly dismantle everything that made your firm worth staying at, this is the other story.

The Role:

This is a Client Accounting Manager role built for someone who's good at their job and wants to actually be recognized for it. You'll manage a portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses and family offices, lead a team of accounting professionals, and serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite clients—all from wherever you work best. No commute, no open office, no "mandatory fun." Just high-quality work, good clients, and the flexibility that comes with a firm that means it when they say remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of client accounting associates and seniors
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of high-value CAS clients (AR/AP, payroll, reconciliations)
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with strategic commentary
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes across multiple client engagements
  • Deliver executive-level cash flow forecasting, KPI dashboards, and operational insights to C-suite clients
  • Partner with tax and assurance teams to provide integrated advisory solutions
  • Build and maintain strong C-level client relationships as primary point of contact
  • Lead client onboarding, technology implementation, and business process optimization projects
  • Contribute to practice development, training initiatives, and methodology refinement

What You Bring:

  • 5–7 years of progressive public accounting experience in client accounting services, outsourced accounting, or public accounting with demonstrated management responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar cloud-based accounting platforms
  • Proven experience managing teams and developing junior staff
  • Strong track record of managing complex client relationships and delivering advisory services
  • Expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, and GAAP compliance
  • Experience with practice management, workflow optimization, and capacity planning

Why This Opportunity is Different:

  • No Busy Season Burnout – CAS isn't audit. There's no January–April grind, no 65-hour weeks, no recovery period. Month-end has a rhythm and the firm actively protects it. Summer Fridays, wellness days, and a sustainable workload aren't perks they list and ignore—they're built into how the practice runs.
  • A Career Path That's Actually There – 20% organic growth means real movement. This firm promotes because they have to, not because someone retired and left a gap. Managers grow into Directors here, and leadership is invested in making that happen.
  • 100% Remote, No Asterisks – Work from anywhere in the US. Full technology support, home office stipend, and a remote infrastructure that's been built—not bolted on.
  • Independence Matters – No PE ownership means no sudden culture shifts, no billing pressure from a new parent company, and no anxiety every time there's a "strategic announcement." Long-term thinking is baked in because the people running it have been here for decades.
  • Top 50 Recognition, Regional Feel – The firm's reputation opens doors with clients. The culture means you're not just a headcount number. Multiple "Best Place to Work" recognitions from Accounting Today back that up.

Total Compensation Package:

  • Base Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 (based on experience)
  • Performance Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus based on individual and firm performance
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (employer-subsidized)
  • Retirement: 401(k) with employer match
  • Time Off: Generous PTO package plus paid wellness days and holidays
  • Professional Development: CPA exam support, continuing education reimbursement, and conference attendance
  • Work-From-Home: Technology stipend and full remote setup support
  • Wellness Perks: Paid massage therapy sessions, employee assistance program, and wellness initiatives
  • Additional Benefits: Summer Fridays, flexible scheduling, employee resource groups, and mentorship programs

Ideal Candidate Profile:

You've built real experience in CAS or outsourced accounting, you know how to manage client relationships without handholding, and you're good at developing the people around you. You're not necessarily unhappy—but you're aware there's a ceiling at your current firm, or the hours stopped being worth it, or the culture changed when new ownership came in. You want a place that's growing, respects your time, and gives you room to lead. This is that place.
