Senior Network Engineer / Architect - Managed Services (Remote, U.S.)
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Compensation: $170K - $210K+ base depending on experience
Clients: Fortune 500 Enterprise Accounts
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer / Architect to join a high-performance Managed Services team supporting a portfolio of enterprise clients. This is a hands-on engineering and architecture role focused on complex Cisco-based environments across large-scale, production networks.
This individual will serve as the primary senior engineer for assigned enterprise clients, providing advanced troubleshooting, architectural guidance, and hands-on resolution within large-scale production environments.
Each engineer is aligned to a set number of enterprise accounts and operates as a trusted technical lead within those environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as senior technical lead for assigned enterprise clients
- Design, troubleshoot, and optimize complex Cisco routing and switching environments
- Act as first-level TAC escalation for advanced networking issues
- Provide architecture guidance and solutions engineering for ongoing initiatives
- Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across Layer 2, Layer 3, and overlay architectures
- Support enterprise WAN, LAN, campus, and data center network infrastructures
- Engage directly with client engineering teams and infrastructure leadership
- Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices across managed environments
Technical Requirements - Cisco Focused
- Senior-level Cisco networking expertise across:
- BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, advanced route manipulation
- EVPN / VXLAN architectures
- Cisco ACI fabric environments
- Nexus 9K, Catalyst 9K platforms
- SD-WAN (Viptela / Meraki)
- SDA / intent-based networking
- High-availability and multi-site data center design
- MPLS and enterprise WAN optimization
- Strong troubleshooting experience in large-scale, production enterprise environments
- Experience integrating network security controls (segmentation, firewall insertion, micro-segmentation strategies)
- Automation exposure such as Python, Ansible, or API-driven network configuration is a plus
- Experience operating at or near CCIE-level depth (certification not required)
Arista Experience - Plus
- Arista EOS and CloudVision environments
- EVPN / VXLAN fabric design using Arista spine-leaf architectures
- Experience with large-scale data center deployments built on Arista switching platforms
- Exposure to automation frameworks within Arista ecosystems
- Troubleshooting leaf-spine architectures in high-availability environments
Ideal Background
- 8+ years of enterprise networking experience
- Prior experience in Managed Services, VAR, MSP, or consulting environments preferred
- Experience supporting Fortune 500 or large enterprise clients
- Comfortable operating independently and owning client relationships from a technical standpoint
