Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 Base + Bonus + 100% Employer-Paid Benefits
We are a Florida-based, publicly traded SaaS company serving insurance and financial services teams nationwide. With continued product growth and investment in engineering, we are hiring a Lead Software Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and scaling our core platforms.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role. We are looking for someone who can architect and build complex backend systems while also setting standards, mentoring developers, and driving execution across projects. This is not a pure management position — you will be deeply involved in system design and production-level code.
The role is backend-leaning (roughly 70% backend / 30% frontend), working primarily with Node.js, React, MongoDB, Docker, REST APIs, and AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Architecting and building scalable backend services using Node.js
- Designing and maintaining high-quality RESTful APIs
- Leading technical direction across key initiatives
- Writing clean, production-ready code in a cloud-native environment
- Improving performance, reliability, and scalability of core systems
- Reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and raising the technical bar
- Working directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical solutions
- Managing technical priorities, risks, and delivery timelines
What We’re Looking For
-
8+ years of full stack development experience, with strong backend depth
- Proven hands-on experience with Node.js in production environments
- Strong experience with React on modern frontend applications
- Experience building and scaling RESTful APIs
- Experience working with MongoDB and/or relational databases
- Production experience with Docker and containerized deployments
- Strong cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Ability to mentor developers and lead technical discussions
- Strong debugging and system design capabilities
- Experience working with financial or transactional systems is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000 – $180,000 base salary (depending on experience)
- Annual bonus / profit-sharing opportunity
- 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Flexible PTO
- Consistent 40-hour work weeks with strong work-life balance
