Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director – HNW Individuals & Trusts

National CPA Firm | $160K–$300K+ | Fully Remote


A nationally recognized CPA firm is hiring experienced tax leaders from Manager through Director level to join its High-Net-Worth and Trust practice. These fully remote positions provide direct Partner access, sophisticated client engagements, and clear paths for career growth.


About the Role

This practice works closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, and their related entities and trusts, offering a balanced mix of compliance, consulting, and strategic planning. Candidates should bring deep experience with HNW taxation, trusts, and pass-through entities. Estate & Gift exposure (Forms 706/709) is a strong plus, though not required for every engagement.


Role Breakdown

  • ~50% HNW Individual Tax (Form 1040 and related planning)
  • ~30% Trust & Fiduciary Tax (Form 1041, multigenerational families, complex structures)
  • ~20% Pass-through Entities (Partnerships/S Corps connected to HNW clients)


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex compliance and consulting engagements for HNW clients, trusts, and related entities.
  • Review and sign off on 1040s, 1041s, and pass-through entity returns, ensuring technical accuracy.
  • Advise clients on wealth transfer, trust structuring, and long-term planning strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, providing technical training and review feedback.
  • Conduct tax research and proactively identify opportunities to add value for clients.


Qualifications

  • CPA or EA required; advanced degree in Taxation a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience (Manager level and above).
  • Strong background in HNW individual taxation, trusts, and pass-through entities.
  • Estate & Gift (706/709) experience strongly preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with sophisticated clients.
