Tax Director (REMOTE) | Virtual Boutique CPA Firm

$170K–$200K Base + Bonus | 100% Remote | Advisory + Leadership

A growing, fully virtual CPA firm is adding a Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director to take on a highly visible role across tax review, client advisory, and team leadership.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced tax professional who still enjoys the technical side of the work but wants to operate at a higher level - owning client relationships, advising business owners, developing the team, and helping shape how the tax practice continues to grow.

The firm works primarily with closely held businesses, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and HNW individuals, with an emphasis on year-round relationships rather than simply getting returns out the door.

The environment is 100% virtual and cloud-based. It's a smaller, entrepreneurial firm where decisions can be made quickly and strong performers have the ability to make a real impact. They're looking for someone who can bring experience and leadership without bringing unnecessary layers of bureaucracy with them.

What You'll Own

• Final review of complex S-Corp, Partnership, Corporate, and HNW individual returns
• Year-round tax planning and advisory for business owners and HNW clients
• Serve as a senior technical resource for complex tax matters
• Own and develop key client relationships
• Mentor and develop Tax Seniors, Managers, and other members of the tax team
• Help strengthen review processes, workflow, and overall delivery
• Partner directly with firm leadership on team development, process improvement, and continued growth
• Help create greater consistency and scalability as the firm expands

What They're Looking For

• 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong background with closely held businesses, pass-through entities, and HNW individuals
• Significant tax review and planning experience
• Current or previous Manager, Senior Manager, or Director-level responsibility
• Comfortable leading people and owning senior-level client relationships
• Able to operate independently in a fully remote environment
• UltraTax experience strongly preferred
• Someone who enjoys a fast-moving boutique environment and wants the ability to influence how the practice operates

Compensation & Environment

• $170K–$200K base, depending on experience
