Network Engineering Manager – NOC & Managed Services (Remote)
Location: Fully Remote (U.S. Based)
A growing IT Solutions Provider and MSP is seeking a hands-on Network Engineering Manager or Principal Network Architect ready to take on broader leadership responsibilities across its Network Operations Center (NOC) and Managed Network Services organization.
This is an opportunity for someone who is already a senior technical resource within a NOC or managed services environment and is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll have increased responsibility for the engineering team and overall NOC operations while continuing to stay heavily involved in the technology.
We're looking for someone with deep enterprise networking expertise who can serve as the senior technical authority within the NOC, lead engineers through complex customer environments and escalations, and help drive the technical direction of the managed network services practice. This role is ideal for someone who wants to remain hands-on technically while continuing to grow into a larger leadership role.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the senior technical leader across the NOC and Managed Network Services organization
- Lead the NOC, Network Engineering, and Managed Infrastructure Services teams
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex enterprise networking issues and critical customer environments
- Remain hands-on with enterprise networking while providing leadership and technical direction across the NOC
- Lead engineers through complex troubleshooting, architecture decisions, and customer escalations
- Review network designs, architectures, configurations, and proposed technical solutions
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, documentation, and technical processes
- Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and overall service delivery
- Develop the engineering team and continue raising the overall technical capabilities of the NOC
- Partner with executive leadership on the continued growth, technical direction, and service offerings of the Managed Network Services practice
Ideal Background
- Currently working as a Principal Network Architect, Network Engineering Team Lead, Lead Network Engineer, hands-on NOC Manager, or technical Network Engineering Director
- Strong experience within a NOC, Managed Network Services, MSP, VAR, Systems Integrator, or IT consulting environment
- Expert-level enterprise networking knowledge across routing & switching, BGP, OSPF, wireless, SD-WAN, data center networking, firewalls, and cloud connectivity
- Strong Cisco networking background with CCIE-level technical expertise; active CCIE is highly preferred
- Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise network environments and handling Tier 3 / Tier 4 escalations
- Experience leading engineers through complex troubleshooting, architecture decisions, escalations, and customer issues
- Previous experience leading or helping lead a NOC, Network Engineering, or Managed Network Services team
- Experience with network automation, monitoring, and improving NOC operations is a plus
- Ability to balance hands-on engineering and technical leadership with team management, service delivery, and customer engagement
