Tax Manager | Top Independent CPA Firm | Post 4/15 Start Date


Compensation: $120k-$170k base | Performance bonuses | Sign-on bonus available

Requirements: CPA or EA required | 5-7+ years tax experience

Location: 100% Remote nationwide (East Coast hours preferred)


We are a century-old independent CPA firm in the Washington, D.C. area with a thriving practice—and we've intentionally remained independent (no PE, never will be).

What You'll Do:

  • Lead tax compliance and planning for clients across a variety of industries, including real estate, construction, medical, healthcare, non-profits, professional services, etc.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying growth opportunities
  • Mentor and develop staff accountants and seniors
  • Participate in business development and client retention initiatives


What You'll Bring:

  • 5-7+ years of public accounting experience
  • Strong background in partnerships, multi-entity structures, and investor clients
  • CPA or EA required
  • Experience from regional or mid-sized firms preferred
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in [firm's tax software] and portal-based client collaboration

Total Compensation:

  • Base Salary: up to $170,000 (experience-based)
  • Performance bonuses tied to realization and business development
  • Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates
  • 3 weeks vacation + 2 weeks sick time

  • 401(k) match: 50% up to a percentage of salary
  • Life insurance and short-term disability
