Our California-based, mid-sized CPA firm is growing and seeking a remote Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director to lead our estate, gift, and trust practice. This is a high-impact role with leadership opportunity, client-facing responsibility, and a clear path to partnership for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director in our Estate, Gift & Trust group, you will:

  • Lead and review the preparation of complex estate, gift, and trust tax returns (Form 706, 709, 1041)
  • Provide strategic planning and consulting to high-net-worth clients on wealth transfer, succession planning, and charitable giving
  • Collaborate with attorneys, fiduciaries, and financial advisors to implement estate plans and trust strategies
  • Supervise and mentor staff and managers, providing technical guidance and review
  • Manage client relationships and ensure the highest level of service and responsiveness
  • Stay current on estate and gift tax legislation and educate both clients and internal teams
  • Participate in firm leadership, planning, and business development as appropriate


What We’re Looking For

  • Active CPA license required (JD or LLM in Taxation a plus)
  • 8+ years of public accounting experience, with significant focus in estate, gift, and trust taxation
  • Deep knowledge of federal and California tax laws related to estate and gift planning
  • Strong client relationship management and advisory experience
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently with distributed teams
  • Experience with CCH, GoSystem, or similar tax software a plus
