3GPP RAN1 5G/6G Researcher
Job Summary
We are seeking a 3GPP RAN1 5G/6G Researcher to support research and development of next-generation wireless communication technologies for connected mobility.
This role will focus on 5G/6G research, 3GPP standardization, wireless communications, and connected vehicle technologies. The researcher will work with internal teams and external industry partners and may have opportunities to contribute to patents, technical publications, and academic research.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to 3GPP 5G/6G standardization, including areas such as Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC).
- Prepare technical contributions and proposals for 3GPP RAN1 and RAN2 working groups.
- Participate in domestic and international 3GPP standardization meetings.
- Develop new ideas and create invention disclosures and patent opportunities.
- Propose and lead research projects involving wireless communication technologies for connected mobility.
- Conduct research and development with internal teams and external partners.
- Prepare technical presentations, reports, academic publications, and patent applications.
- Present research findings and project updates to technical teams and management.
- Participate in industry standards and organizations such as SAE, ETSI, IEEE 802, 5GAA, and AECC, as needed.
- Support additional wireless communication and mobility research projects.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in wireless communications research and development.
- Experience with wireless communications for automotive or vehicular applications is preferred.
- Experience contributing to 3GPP standardization, preferably within RAN1.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to attend industry and standards meetings.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR technologies and 3GPP standards.
- Strong understanding of wireless communications at Layer 1 (PHY) and Layer 2 (MAC/RLC).
- Experience with 5G NR, LTE, and wireless communication technologies.
- Knowledge or experience with Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) is preferred.
- Experience developing patents or invention disclosures, particularly related to LTE/5G NR.
- Understanding of the 3GPP standardization process.
- Strong research and problem-solving skills with the ability to explore new technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly present complex technical information to technical and international audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
