Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our CPA firm in an on-site role. This position is responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle for multiple clients—from daily transaction processing through financial reporting and year-end close.
This is a hands-on role for someone who doesn’t need babysitting, can spot issues before they become problems, and keeps client books clean enough that CPAs don’t have to fix them later.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow tracking
- Process and oversee payroll and related tax filings
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Review and clean up client books, correcting errors and inconsistencies
- Manage and file sales tax and other regulatory filings
- Prepare workpapers and support schedules for tax preparation and audits
- Communicate directly with clients to request documentation and resolve issues
- Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

3–5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably in a CPA or public accounting firm
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Required: Advanced, hands-on expertise in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)
- Strong Excel skills, including ability to analyze and reconcile data
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
- High level of accuracy, organization, and accountability
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in a CPA or public accounting firm environment
- Experience with payroll platforms (Gusto, ADP, or similar)
- Knowledge of sales tax, multi-state filings, and compliance requirements
- Experience cleaning up complex or neglected books
- Familiarity with additional accounting systems (e.g., Xero)
