Accounts Payable Specialist

VineHR is supporting our client with the search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their close-knit, established and collaborative team in Burnaby. If you have 3+ years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced and complex environment, we would love to hear from you!


The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial management of our client by ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments to vendors, suppliers, and service providers. This position involves maintaining detailed records, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate a smooth workflow. The main responsibilities are as follows:


  • Receive and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and approval.
  • Code and enter invoices into the accounting system for payment.
  • Schedule and process payments to vendors through various methods, such as checks and electronic transfers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of funds while adhering to payment terms.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and other relevant matters.
  • Resolve issues and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reconcile employee expense reports
  • Verify receipts and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Provide necessary documentation for audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for a strong communicator and a self-motivated individual with the ability to work well in an entrepreneurial environment. Demonstrated ability to process high volume of transactions with tight deadlines will be key to be successful in this position.


This is a great role if you are looking to be a part of a tenured and growing team! Post-secondary education coupled with 3+ years of experience in high-volume accounts payable is preferred.


Location: This position is an on-site position at the client’s head office in Burnaby.


Compensation

Comprehensive compensation package offered including base salary in the range of $50,000 – 54,000 per year depending on experience, bonus, extended benefits, RRSP contribution, vacation and other perks.
