Assistant Manager, Accounting and Reporting | Remote
Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Accounting and Reporting to join its Finance & Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing hands-on financial reporting responsibilities with broader visibility across the business.
Reporting to the Controller, this role is part of a small finance team of five, including the VP of Finance. The position has strong exposure to core accounting operations, reporting, audit support, and cross-functional collaboration, and is ideal for someone who is looking to step into a high-impact role within a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Review cost of sales calculations, validate supporting data, and ensure accurate and timely posting to the general ledger
- Monitor overhead allocations, maintain general ledger integrity, and oversee account reconciliations and internal controls
- Prepare and review lease accounting schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards, including right-of-use assets and lease liabilities
- Perform and review intercompany reconciliations, resolve variances, and ensure timely settlement and appropriate eliminations
- Lead month-end close activities and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Support year-end financial reporting, audit schedules, and related documentation
- Prepare weekly cash forecasts and work closely with operational leaders to support planning and reporting needs
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Progress toward a CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting certification
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to financial reporting and general ledger management
- Experience leading or supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including audit preparation
- Solid understanding of lease accounting and intercompany accounting
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in the entertainment, production, or VFX industry is considered an asset
- Previous NetSuite experience is considered an asset
