About the Aviation Learning Center

Our Aviation Learning Center introduces students ages 7–16 to the fundamentals of flight, aviation science, and air traffic control concepts using computer-based flight simulators and interactive lessons. The goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence with STEM concepts, and make aviation approachable and fun.

This is not a traditional flight school—it’s an educational, hands-on learning environment similar to a coding academy or STEM lab.

Role Summary

We are seeking a part-time instructor/facilitator to supervise simulator stations, guide students through structured aviation lessons, and ensure a safe, engaging, and positive learning experience.

You do not need to be a licensed pilot or certified instructor—but you must be comfortable with technology, working with children, and learning aviation concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Student Engagement

  • Guide students through flight simulator activities (basic aircraft control, navigation, weather, and ATC concepts)
  • Explain aviation concepts in simple, age-appropriate language
  • Encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork
  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and supportive classroom environment

Simulator & Lab Management

  • Set up and shut down simulator stations
  • Ensure equipment is used safely and properly
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues (software restarts, peripherals, settings)
  • Keep the learning space organized and clean

Classroom Operations

  • Take attendance and track student progress
  • Assist with lesson pacing and transitions
  • Communicate clearly with parents as needed (pick-up, progress notes, basic questions)
  • Follow established lesson plans and center policies

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (ages 7–16) in any setting (education, tutoring, camps, coaching, STEM programs, etc.)
  • Comfortable using computers, software, and basic technology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, reliable, and professional
  • Ability to stand, move around the classroom, and assist multiple students at once

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Interest in aviation, aerospace, STEM, or flight simulation
  • Experience with Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, or similar software
  • Background in education, engineering, gaming, robotics, or coding
  • College students, aviation enthusiasts, or retired professionals welcome

Training & Support

  • Paid onboarding and training provided
  • Structured lesson plans and simulator workflows
  • Ongoing support from center leadership

Compensation

  • Hourly pay (commensurate with experience)
  • Opportunity for additional hours as the center grows
  • Advancement potential into Lead Instructor or Center Manager roles

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Likes working with kids
  • Enjoys technology and learning new systems
  • Can explain complex ideas simply
  • Wants a meaningful, fun, part-time role—not just a shift job
