Position: Kinesiologist
Location: Surrey Clinics
Program: Rehabilitation Services – Customized Recovery & Return to Work
Status: FTE0.8 (30 hrs/week)
Hours: Weekdays | 30 hrs/week
Compensation: $26-32 per hour + benefits (Factors such as education, experience and internal equity will be considered to determine the compensation)
As a Kinesiologist, you will work collaboratively within our team to assist clients in returning to work and improving their quality of life. You will be involved in active rehabilitation programs, utilizing your knowledge of disability and rehabilitation, as well as the psychosocial aspects associated with them.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Kinesiologist in a related setting, with at least 6 months in return-to-work rehabilitation, ideal.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or equivalent.

Memberships: Member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK).

Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and adapt to changing demands.

Preferred: Experience with concussion management, knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation aspects.

Travel: May be required to travel within the lower mainland and between the Back in Motion Surrey clinics.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support clients in exercise, stretching, and work simulation programs.
- Handle administrative duties related to program operations.
- Coordinate maintenance of gym equipment with the Rehab Services Manager.
- Conduct on-site Job Site Visits/Return to Work planning.
- Develop and monitor Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans.
- Communicate with referral sources and schedule client appointments.
- Participate in staff committees and special projects.
- Provide education to community and professional organizations as needed.
- Mentor Kinesiologists and supervise Kinesiology students.
Assessment & Reporting
- Review medical files and conduct client interviews to gather relevant occupational and health information.
- Perform functional assessments to identify return-to-work barriers.
- Write reports and maintain weekly program notes documenting client progress.
Program Delivery
- Provide client orientation to the facility and program.
- Develop and progress rehabilitation plans in collaboration with team members.
- Offer one-on-one assistance to clients requiring individualized attention.
- Supervise gym operations to ensure safety.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated client care.
- Develop home exercise programs for discharged clients.
Education & Group Activities
- Deliver lectures on topics like posture, body mechanics, and exercise principles.
- Lead group classes in stretching, strengthening, and balance exercises.
