Job Summary:

The Facility Manager is responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance, process improvement, project management, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive environment. This role involves coordinating maintenance, overseeing vendors, identifying CAPEX activities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Facility Manager will have direct supervision of the maintenance team and will be responsible for leading process improvement projects for the facility.

This role will report to the VP Supply Chain & Operations.


Key Responsibilities:

·      Maintenance Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of the facility, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other infrastructure.

·      Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, supporting EH&S manager for root cause and corrective actions.

·      Vendor Management: Select and manage relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure quality and efficiency of services.

·      Product Verification: Test new products to develop the correct manufacturing configuration for efficient and reliable production.

·      Process Improvement: Manage projects through design, quoting, scheduling, implementation, and risk management.

·      Budget Management: Develop CAPEX project plans and identify cost-saving opportunities.

·      Team Leadership: Supervise maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment while developing talent to support employee growth.

This is not a complete list, and other tasks will be assigned as required.


Qualifications:

·      Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or equivalent field.

·      Experience:

o  Experience in facility management or a related field, with strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.

o  Experience of using continuous improvement methodologies, or of optimizing manufacturing processes, in an engineering environment.

o  Experience in project management and with leading multi-functional teams.

Skills:

o  Strong organizational and project management skills.

o  Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

o  Ability to understand building/engineering drawings.

o  Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

 

Preferred Skills & Attributes

·      Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.

·      Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent.

·      Experience in chemical / industrial processes.

·      Experience in coaching team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets.

·      Experience sourcing and supervising contractors to carry out facility project work.
