ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

All Pro Recruiting is representing a growing commercial services company in a search for a Senior Accountant on a six-month contract basis. The company operates across six states and is continuing to grow, creating an opportunity for an experienced accountant to make an immediate impact within a collaborative accounting team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a hands-on Senior Accountant role supporting day-to-day accounting operations as well as month-end close and related reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the accounting team and business partners while also taking ownership of assigned responsibilities independently.

The position is full-time and will be in the office for the first three months, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule thereafter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Manage accounts receivable activities, including collection efforts on outstanding invoices and entering customer payments.

·       Support accounts payable, including entering vouchers, reconciling vendor statements, bank statements, and credit card statements.

·       Support payroll processes through timesheet entry, employee reimbursements, and preparation activities.

·       Assist with payroll-related review, including identifying potential W-2 inaccuracies prior to calendar year-end; Workday experience is a plus.

·       Monitor and respond to AR, AP, and Payroll Outlook inboxes, handling internal and external requests and related tasks.

·       Support month-end close by preparing balance sheet workpapers, posting journal entries, running reports, identifying potential mispostings, and assisting with income statement analysis.

·       Prepare intercompany journal entries and perform intercompany reconciliations.

·       Support the preparation and updating of PowerPoint presentations used for team and business meetings.

·       Prepare, reconcile, and file Pennsylvania and New Jersey Sales & Use Tax returns.

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

·       Progressive accounting experience with strong hands-on exposure to general accounting functions.

·       Strong understanding of AR, AP, payroll support, reconciliations, and month-end accounting processes.

·       Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a growing environment.

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or unusual activity.

·       Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with a small accounting team.

 

 

IDEAL BACKGROUND

Industry experience is open. Candidates coming from construction, commercial services, manufacturing, or other operationally complex environments may be especially well suited to the role. Experience working in a multi-state organization is also valuable.
