Process Technology Manager for a multi-site branded food manufacturer based in Teesside. The role offers hybrid working, typically with 3 days on site and 2 days working from home. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert supporting the implementation of new and improved technologies while embedding best practice into one of the key manufacturing sites

 

Reporting to the Head of Research and Development, responsibilities for the role will include:

·      Leading the process capability requirements for mid-term NPD projects and programmes, ensuring the right technology, methods and standards are in place to support successful delivery.

·      Building a strong understanding of current processes and ways of working to help scale best practice across this key manufacturing site and other sites.

·      Working with internal teams and external partners to bring forward new and improved process technologies, ensuring they are applied safely, consistently and in line with business needs.

·      Playing a key role in supporting sustainability plans, contributing to carbon-reduction initiatives, waste reduction and improved efficiency.

·      Sharing knowledge openly and coach colleagues across R&D, Technical, Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing to strengthen capability and support consistent performance.

·      Maintaining an awareness of competitor process capabilities and support the business in understanding how production technologies link to product performance and market expectations.


Essential / Desirable skills include:

·      Significant experience in process development or process engineering within a FMCG or food manufacturing environment.

·      Able to explain technical information clearly to different audiences and build strong engagement.

·      Strong knowledge of food processing and an up-to-date understanding of emerging process technologies.

·      Confident in experimental design, problem-solving and root cause analysis.

·      Practical understanding of factory environments and relevant food industry technical standards (e.g. HACCP, BRC).

·      Driving licence essential
