Part-time Food Technologist for a fast-growing Food Distributor based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be managing product specifications, ensuring compliance with technical, legal, and customer requirements, while also assisting with New Product Development.

Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Managing product specifications to ensure compliance with all legal, technical, and customer requirements
• Conducting technical artwork and back-of-pack checks
• Verifying product specifications for accuracy and ensuring all technical details are correctly completed and compliant
• Monitoring the quality of incoming goods and ensuring supplier specifications align with company standards
• Leading investigations and managing customer complaints, ensuring swift and accurate resolutions
• Maintaining up-to-date technical records and accreditations for all suppliers
• Providing technical support to NPD projects

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Experience in a Quality Assurance or Technical role within a Food Manufacturing environment
• In-depth technical understanding of UK specification writing, back-of-pack information, and artwork checks
• Strong knowledge of UK food safety and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
• Ability to interpret complex technical documents and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Ideally, experience with retailer specification systems and product approval processes

The working hours for this Part-time, hybrid role are 16 – 21hrs per week, 1 day in the office, with flexibility over working days and hours. The salary is £35k - £40k pro-rata.
