Raw Materials Technologist

Raw Materials Technologist for a multi-site Food Manufacturer who pride themselves on exceptional quality. Responsible for raw materials and supplier compliance for their North London site.

 

Reporting to the Raw Materials Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Approving and monitoring suppliers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Reviewing and verifying supplier GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) accreditation.
  • Approving and monitoring raw materials and packaging
  • Carrying out raw material and allergen risk assessments.
  • Verifying raw material specifications
  • Monitoring threats and vulnerabilities in raw materials
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve non-conformances
  • Conducting raw material and mass balance traceability exercises.
  • Supporting raw material approvals and reviews to ensure timely and accurate product launches.

 

Essential / Desirable skills include:

  • Food Manufacturing experience (preferably in Supplier Assurance).
  • Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety qualification.
  • Auditor qualification and experience conducting audits (BRCGS preferred).
  • Ideally recognised allergen qualification with strong allergen management knowledge.
  • Familiar with customer codes of practice (allergens, labelling, coding, foreign body detection).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Excel
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills – able to interpret data and documentation accurately.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Clear and confident communicator (written and verbal).

The working hours are Monday to Friday – 9am – 5pm, 40 hours per week. The salary is £30k - £35k per annum.
