Position Overview

This Data Scientist role focuses on developing innovative analytic solutions for complex datasets in the defense and intelligence sectors. The position requires a strong background in machine learning, data analysis, and algorithm development. You will work on challenging problems, collaborate with subject matter experts, and contribute to mission-critical analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms.
• Prototype, evaluate, and refine algorithms using appropriate performance metrics.
• Build models or simulate data to generate training datasets when unavailable.
• Generate reports and visualizations that provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to automate manual data analysis workflows.
• Integrate algorithms within production frameworks for use in operational workflows.
• Guide team members in analytic development and ensure scalability of solutions.
• Work with software engineers and cloud developers to deploy production analytics.

Minimum Requirements

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science) with 8 years of experience,
• OR Master’s degree with 5 years of experience,
• OR PhD with 2 years of experience.
• Proficiency in R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Expertise in machine learning model development, tuning, and evaluation.
• Experience validating analytics using techniques like cross-validation and ROC curves.
• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Python or R.
• Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and production deployment.
• Strong data visualization and reporting skills.
