We are seeking an experienced Civil-Site Development Engineer to join our team, supporting the complete design and execution of small to large civil engineering projects. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize departmental design and drafting standards to execute high-quality project designs
  • Interpret project scope, specifications, and design criteria within assigned task teams
  • Conduct and verify complex design calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Generate reports for client and regulatory submissions, documenting design rationale and compliance
  • Provide design support for larger, complex assignments as well as conceptual layouts and cost analyses
  • Review and verify calculations, designs, and project documentation created by other engineers
  • Assist with drafting plans, preparing engineering drawings, and developing written construction specifications
  • Perform fieldwork to gather data, confirm project tie-ins, and support construction efforts
  • Conduct land development and zoning research, ensuring compliance for civil-site development
  • Coordinate small project teams, maintaining focus on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Estimate and schedule professional service hours, assessing civil/structural work progress and quality


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required; Engineer in Training (EIT) registration considered if PE licensure can be obtained within six months of hire
  • Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in civil-site engineering, ideally within an industrial, commercial, government, or infrastructure setting


Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in civil stormwater analysis software (SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR) with the ability to interpret results
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards (ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with Civil3D is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with active listening abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively in a team
