Position Overview

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves interacting with patients across all age groups, their families, and medical staff, requiring exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will be part of a collaborative team utilizing state-of-the-art equipment in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Explain radiation therapy procedures and departmental functions to nurses, physicians, staff, and patients.
• Collaborate with an experienced team, including a Radiation Oncologist with over 30 years of experience and therapists with 55+ years of combined experience.
• Work with onsite dosimetrists and physicists to ensure precision and safety in treatments.
• Maintain continuing education as prescribed by JCAHO and A.R.R.T.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Understanding of radiation therapy principles and the ability to communicate them effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Radiation Oncology Department is desirable but not required.

Equipment and Facilities

• Elekta Versa with VMAT: Commissioned in 2023.
• Wide Bore GE CT: Located onsite.
• PET CT Scanner: Located at the hospital.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
