We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a dynamic cardiology clinic in Minneapolis. This role involves managing the customer flow throughout the clinic and assisting providers in delivering individualized care to patients across all age groups, including infants, children, adults, and geriatrics.


As a Medical Assistant, you will work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and supervisors to ensure high-quality care while performing both clinical and clerical tasks. Communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities


Clinical Care:

  • Perform standard rooming processes and assist with patient preparation.
  • Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform phlebotomy, and conduct clinic laboratory tests.
  • Provide telephone support and facilitate communication between customers and providers.
  • Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Perform x-ray duties (if certified) and other delegated clinical tasks.

Clinic Support:

  • Support front desk operations, including patient check-in.
  • Order and stock medical supplies to maintain clinic efficiency.
  • Provide additional support as assigned to help meet departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinic setting and as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Minnesota.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • License verification through AAMA, NHA, or AMT.
