Personal Lines Senior Associate State Manager - Trenton, NJ


Position Overview

The Personal Lines State Management team is responsible for driving profitable growth for personal auto, home, and umbrella products across a multi-state footprint. As a Senior Associate State Manager, you will develop and execute product and pricing strategies for assigned states, focusing on profitability, premium growth, and customer experience enhancements. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and presenting key insights to executive leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive premium growth and profitability for personal lines products in assigned states.
  • Develop short- and long-term rate change roadmaps and project plans for each product.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory environments.
  • Lead projects to improve premium growth, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, and other departments to execute strategic plans.
  • Manage and lead a State Team of actuarial and business insights analysts to achieve state-specific goals.
  • Present rate changes, project updates, and state performance metrics to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Partner with Finance (BP&A) to create annual financial plans and forecasts.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in actuarial or insurance product analytics, including at least 1–2 years as an entry-level state manager or similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with advanced data analytics capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management, with competence in other MS Office tools.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic product and pricing plans.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, with strong presentation skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
