Company Overview

Provides a nurturing nursery school service within a day care setting for children aged 18 months to 5 years old. Operating 51 weeks a year from 7:30am to 6pm, we are committed to fostering early childhood development through our unique Philosophy and project-based curriculum. We prioritise organic and seasonal produce in our daily meals prepared by our dedicated school chef.

Summary

Are you a passionate advocate for inclusive education? We are looking for a dedicated Nursery SENCO to lead our SEND provision and ensure every child in our care has the opportunity to thrive. You will be the heart of our inclusion strategy, bridging the gap between our practitioners, parents, and external specialists.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the nursery’s SEND policy and regularly review inclusive practices with the management team Peterborough Learn Together.
  • The Graduated Approach: Lead the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle for children with additional needs, ensuring personalised support plans are effective Kids Charity.
  • Staff Support: Mentor and train practitioners to identify early signs of SEND and implement differentiated learning strategies in the classroom.
  • Multi-Agency Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and Local Authority Area SENCOs Livewell Southend.
  • Parent Partnership: Work closely with families to provide guidance, share progress, and support them through the EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) application process Online Learning College.


What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare is essential. Holding (or working towards) the Level 3 Early Years SENCO Award or having Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable Prospects.
  • Experience: Proven experience supporting children with a range of needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, GDD) within an early years setting Guardian Jobs.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of the EYFS Framework, the SEND Code of Practice, and the local authority’s "Local Offer" Southwark Council.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, empathy, and organisational skills, with a "solution-focused" approach
