Nursery Chef - Newham

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 dependant on experience

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, shift patterns between 07:30 – 18:30

Key Responsibilities

1. Meal Preparation and Nutrition

•Prepare fresh, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years.

•Ensure meals follow healthy eating guidance for early years settings.

•Prepare age-appropriate meals including weaning foods where required.

•Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served on time in line with nursery routines.

Purpose of the Role

The Nursery Chef is responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation. The role ensures meals support children’s health, wellbeing, and development in line with early years nutrition guidance.
