Nursery Room Leader - Leytonstone

Full time - 40 hours

Salary from £30, 000 - £33, 000 pa depending on experience

Pre-school room

Job Description:

 

Your first responsibility is to be an outstanding nursery officer providing an example of excellent childcare practice, conduct and professionalism to the other nursery staff. You must have a thorough understanding of the nursery policies and procedures relevant to your role with additional emphasis on your knowledge and understanding of the nursery safeguarding policy. You should ensure compliance with all current legislation and guidance which governs our activities including the appropriate sections of the Children’s Acts 1989 and 2006 as well as all current health and safety, race relations legislation and the EYFS.

 

As Room Leader you are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the staff and children in your care. The children’s needs must be put at the forefront of how you organise your room and the nursery day and at all times your highest priority must be to provide a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment. This must be done within the framework of the EYFS and you must ensure that you meet the developmental needs of each individual child.


Qualifications:

 

·      Level 3 childcare qualification as a minimum, this must fulfill the mandatory requirements set out by the CWDC (Children’s Workforce Development Council).

·      A higher level qualification is desirable and applications from candidates already holding level 4 or above will be looked upon favourably.

·      Pediatric First Aid Certificate

·      Food & Hygiene Level 2 certificate (or willingness to train for certificate)

 

As part of your role you may be asked to undertake additional training in SEN, Child protection health and safety or any other course required for the effective running of the nursery.
