Nursery Manager - Walthamstow

Full time - 40 hours

Salary from £45 to £50k

63 place independent family run nursery

Opens 8 till 6pm

Job Purpose

The Nursery Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management and quality of provision at the Nursery. The role ensures that children receive high-quality early education and care within a safe,

nurturing and inclusive environment.


The Nursery Manager leads and supports the staff team to deliver an ambitious and engaging curriculum that

enables children to make good progress from their starting points.


The manager ensures staff practice is regularly monitored through observation, supervision and reflective discussion to maintain high standards across the setting.


Through strong leadership, the Nursery Manager supports staff development by identifying training needs and

promoting continuous professional development (CPD), ensuring practitioners continue to develop their skills and

knowledge.


The Nursery Manager ensures that the nursery operates in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage,

safeguarding requirements and the expectations of Ofsted.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Staff Management


The Nursery Manager provides strong leadership to ensure the nursery maintains high standards of care and

education.


Responsibilities include:

• Leading, motivating and supporting the staff team to deliver high-quality early years provision.

• Observing staff practice regularly to monitor the effectiveness of interactions, teaching and care.

• Ensuring staff perform effectively and meet the expectations of the Nursery.


Conducting regular supervision meetings, reflective discussions and annual appraisals.

• Providing constructive feedback, mentoring and coaching to improve staff practice.

• Identifying professional development needs and supporting staff to access relevant training and CPD

opportunities.

• Promoting a culture of reflective practice, teamwork and continuous improvement.

• Working closely with the Deputy Manager, providing guidance and leadership to ensure standards are

maintained across all rooms.

Strong leadership and staff development ensure high-quality teaching and learning, which is a key focus during

inspections carried out by Ofsted.
