Room leader / Deputy manager - Putney

Salary: Approx. £30,000 – £34,000 per annum

Full time over 4 or 5 days per week (37–45 hours)

Working 8am – 6pm with one hour lunch break

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Room Leader (Level 3+) to join our friendly and well-established nursery team in Putney.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. Alongside leading your room and supporting your team, you’ll also take on Deputy Manager responsibilities, working closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the setting.


Your role will include:

  • Leading and inspiring your room team to deliver high-quality care and education.
  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with operational duties, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor, ensuring the EYFS framework is implemented effectively.
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Taking responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence.

School Time

Open 8am to 6pm, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year.

As Deputy Manager, you will be passionate about working with children, supporting their development and ensuring the highest standards of care and education. This is a predominantly room-based role, making it an ideal opportunity for experienced Room Leaders ready to take the next step in their career.


We are looking for dynamic, motivated and committed individuals with a child-centred approach. You must hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent) and have experience leading a team within an early years setting.

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging children through play and learning
  • Commitment to helping children thrive and reach their full potential

Salary for Room Leader (Putney) is £30,000 – £34,000, working 4 or 5 days per week.
