Resource International, Inc. (Rii) offers a broad range of services including planning, design, engineering, environmental, construction and program and construction management services and construction support services. Established in 1973, Resource International employs 160 engineers and professionals throughout the Midwest. Our Corporate office is located in Columbus, Ohio with full-service branch offices in Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana.

As member of Rii's Construction Services team, responsibilities include on-site inspection of deep foundations, shallow foundations, proof rolling of subgrades, compaction testing of soils and bituminous concrete, concrete testing and inspection, structural concrete reinforcement inspection (with an emphasis on post-tensioning systems), spray-applied fireproofing inspection, concrete anchor inspection and curtain wall facades inspection and testing. Senior Technicians are responsible for documentation, calculations, review of construction procedures and communication and coordination with the contractor and owner on-site representative.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the areas of structural reinforced concrete inspection and post-tensioning inspection. May be required to work at heights with or without fall arrest equipment, utilizing on site scaffolding or powered lifts as needed.

Required Certifications: PTI, Level 2 Unbonded PT Inspector; ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1; ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector; NICET, Level 2 Certification, Construction Materials Testing Asphalt, Concrete; and Soils

Additional Desired Certifications: ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector, ICC Spray Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector

Skills / Qualifications

• Safety focus and attention to detail
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years related work experience in materials testing and inspection
• Two years technical/trade or college student working toward civil engineering or construction management degree or related field preferred
• Current industry certifications for materials testing or construction (see above)
• Ability to operate a company vehicle within company policy. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record is required
• Knowledge of Construction techniques, testing & construction management
• Ability to document completed jobs including notes on client contacts, action in the field, subsequent laboratory test with dates and times noted for review purposes
• Ability to maintain a tactful attitude and maintain good relationships with project engineers, owners, and contractors
• Ability to talk knowledgeably to project engineers and/or contractors about the jobs as required concerning work progress and necessary recommendations
• Ability to accurately and fluently convey thoughts orally and in writing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
• Understanding of Nuclear Density Gauge Radiation Safety
• Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events in the community, with clients, and within the company
• The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring
• Work under the direction of staff professionals and project managers
