Senior Gameplay Developer
Location: Stockholm, Sweden Engine: Unreal Engine 5
About the Role
A senior, broad-scope role for a developer who wants to shape the technical direction of a genuinely innovative product. You’ll own architecture decisions, drive R&D, and act as a technical enabler across the whole team, bridging gameplay, art, and animation disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Define and build baseline architecture for new features
- Lead R&D initiatives, including cutting-edge work on procedural character AI and naturalistic eye/body movement
- Act as a “feature starter”: pull features forward and hand off to relevant disciplines with clear technical guidance
- Collaborate with animators, artists, and gameplay developers to ensure smooth cross-discipline workflows
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in game development (or equivalent demonstrated seniority)
- AAA studio background strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in Unreal Engine 5
- Experience with character AI, procedural systems, or animation tech is a significant advantage
- Ability to think architecturally and plan for future implementation
