Head of Talent Acquisition – Portugal, Remote

Overview

This role is responsible for owning and delivering the full lifecycle global talent acquisition strategy within a high-growth, fast-paced technology environment. It combines strategic workforce planning with hands-on recruitment execution, ensuring the organisation attracts, engages, and hires top talent across technical, commercial, and leadership functions.

The position plays a critical role in shaping how talent is identified and secured, while supporting the business operationally where required.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute a multi-year talent acquisition strategy aligned with business growth and workforce planning
  • Build and evolve scalable talent acquisition processes
  • Establish effective workforce planning cadences with business leaders
  • Provide insight on talent availability, including salary benchmarks, market expectations, competitor activity, and geographic expansion opportunities
  • Define and maintain clarity of the employer brand and employee value proposition

Team & Function Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small, globally distributed talent acquisition team
  • Champion the adoption of effective recruitment technologies (ATS, CRM systems, automation, sourcing tools)
  • Partner with HR leadership on employer branding and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Strengthen hiring manager capability, ownership, and accountability

Recruitment Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end hiring for key and strategic roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines, particularly for senior and specialised technical roles
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and talent partners

Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track meaningful recruitment KPIs (e.g. quality of hire, time-to-fill, candidate experience)
  • Benchmark against external market data and generate actionable insights

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Partner with HR and legal stakeholders to ensure compliance with local employment laws
  • Support internal stakeholders throughout hiring processes with insights, guidance, and coaching


Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years’ experience in talent acquisition, including leadership of global teams
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, iGaming, or similar B2B sectors is advantageous
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
  • Experience building processes from the ground up and scaling them effectively
  • Strong stakeholder management and senior-level communication skills
  • Familiarity with modern recruitment technologies and data-driven decision making
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
  • Analytical, adaptable, and growth-oriented mindset
  • High level of ownership, maturity, and ability to build alignment across stakeholders
