Overview

Our client is a leading provider of engineered power distribution and modular infrastructure solutions supporting hyperscale data centers, utilities, industrial facilities, renewable energy projects, and other mission-critical environments throughout North America.

Due to continued growth within its Modular Solutions division, they are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and integration of E-Houses, packaged substations, and modular power systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly visible projects supporting some of the most demanding power applications in the market while contributing to one of the fastest-growing segments of the business.

The ideal candidate will bring experience designing power distribution systems, integrating controls, and developing electrical solutions for critical power, industrial, renewable energy, or data center applications.

Why This Opportunity

Join a rapidly growing organization that has established itself as a trusted partner for complex electrical infrastructure projects across North America.

The company continues to invest heavily in modular power solutions as demand accelerates across hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, utility modernization, and industrial expansion projects. Engineers within this group play a direct role in shaping innovative power delivery solutions from concept and design through manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and deployment.

Unlike highly siloed engineering environments, this position offers exposure to the entire project lifecycle while working closely with customers, manufacturing teams, controls engineers, project managers, and field service personnel.

This is an opportunity to join a financially stable organization with a substantial project backlog, strong leadership, and significant long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical System Design

  • Develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and overall power architectures for modular E-Houses and skid-based power solutions
  • Design and integrate low- and medium-voltage power systems supporting mission-critical and industrial applications
  • Size and specify major electrical equipment including switchgear, switchboards, transformers, breakers, busway interfaces, metering systems, and power quality equipment
  • Develop grounding and bonding strategies for modular power systems and site integration requirements

Power Distribution & Controls Integration

  • Define electrical interfaces between power equipment, protection systems, controls platforms, and monitoring systems
  • Specify and integrate ATS and UPS systems, including maintenance bypass schemes and redundancy philosophies such as N, N+1, and 2N
  • Coordinate electrical interfaces for battery systems supporting UPS and energy storage applications
  • Develop interlock logic, alarm schemes, permissives, trips, emergency shutdown functions, and control interfaces in coordination with controls and protection teams

Engineering Documentation

  • Produce and review electrical drawing packages including:
  • One-line diagrams
  • Schematics
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Interconnect drawings
  • Equipment layouts
  • Cable schedules
  • Support bill of material development and equipment procurement activities
  • Review supplier documentation and technical submittals

  • Load calculations
  • Voltage drop analysis
  • Short circuit studies
  • Arc flash data development
  • Protective device coordination inputs
  • Support compliance activities related to UL, NRTL, customer standards, and applicable industry requirements
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and develop corrective action plans when required

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with HVAC systems, fire protection systems, facility controls, and monitoring platforms
  • Work closely with manufacturing, project management, controls engineering, sourcing, and field service teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Modular Solutions group

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of experience designing industrial, critical power, mission-critical, renewable energy, or power distribution systems
