JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Commissioning Engineer position requires an individual capable of executing substation protection and control field testing and commissioning tasks for a given project.
The successful candidate’s main responsibility will include:
- Understanding client expectations as it relates to SAFETY, Quality and compliance documentation for their projects.
- Understanding Emerge's testing and commissioning processes.
- Reviewing and studying project scope, control drawings, relay settings and project timelines.
- Develop a series of work planning documents along with required supporting documentation.
- Execute field operations and other field work activities to ensure project deliverables are complete.
- Assist/Complete all required project documentation.
- Stay compliant with all required customers and internal training.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) (preferred).
- Certifications: EIT (FE) or Professional Engineer's License (PE) (preferred).
Experience:
- +5 years of progressive engineering / field services experience.
- Other related field experience such as SCADA (RTU), DFR, etc.
- Previous commissioning engineering experience.
- Ability to take on complex projects with minimum supervision.
- Plan, Coordinate, Lead and Execute projects from start to finish while providing support and engaging other engineers.
- Ability to communicate with different workgroups and become a point of contact for the jobsite.
- Ability to guide others by identifying and mitigating SAFETY and QUALITY hazards for any given project.
