Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager – Electrical Services Sector

Location: Phoenix, AZ or Dallas, TX

Pay: Starting at $150K+, with flexibility for the right individual

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Southern Staffing Group is representing a confidential client—an industry leader in power system services—on the hunt for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. This is a high-impact opportunity with a company known for its safety-first culture, operational excellence, and long-term vision in the power and utility services sector.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience building and scaling EHS programs in high-risk environments such as power systems, construction, or field services. This is not a clipboard safety role. This is about embedding a culture of accountability and awareness across a technical, mobile workforce.

What You'll Be Driving:

Safety Leadership & Compliance

  • Own the development, execution, and continuous improvement of EHS policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and state/local laws.
  • Conduct jobsite and facility audits. Enforce corrective actions, root cause investigations, and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Lead the charge on critical safety domains including: Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, and more.

Training & Culture Development

  • Deliver new hire and recurring safety trainings.
  • Lead management-level coaching to support a proactive safety mindset from the top down.
  • Track safety performance metrics and certifications, and use tools like Power BI to turn data into insights.

Incident Response & Risk Mitigation

  • Manage incident investigations and claims processes—from worker’s comp to vehicle incidents.
  • Develop and execute incident trend reports, safety dashboards, and improvement strategies.
  • Support field teams in risk assessments and safe job planning (e.g., JHAs, permitting, contractor onboarding).

Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies and auditors.
  • Collaborate daily with operations and field supervisors to ensure buy-in and proper execution of safety standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date SDS and PPE programs across all job types and work sites.

What You Bring to the Table:

Required:

  • 6–8 years of experience in EHS roles within construction, electrical services, utilities, or industrial environments.
  • Strong command of OSHA standards, NFPA 70E, and jobsite safety best practices.
  • Working knowledge of incident reporting tools, claims management, and audit processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI (or similar platforms).
  • OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).

Preferred:

  • Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent field experience.
  • BCSP certifications (CSP, ASP, CHST, SMS, etc.), or other nationally recognized safety credentials.
  • Experience managing safety programs for high-voltage, utility, or field service environments.
  • Background in the electrical trades or hands-on electrical safety implementation is a strong plus.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Base salary starting at $150K+, commensurate with experience.
  • Full benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with match, Tuition Reimbursement, Parental Leave, and more.
  • Bonus incentives tied to certifications and performance.
  • Wellness days, paid holidays, and a company culture that prioritizes people over process.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform site audits in industrial settings (climb ladders, carry equipment, etc.).
  • Comfortable working flexible hours and traveling to job sites as needed.
